About Colwyn Abbey Players

We are a friendly/welcoming group who have been established over 50 years, presenting a whole range of material classical drama, musicals and comedy.

As well as an annual major production at Theatr Colwyn, we have “gone mobile”, presenting plays in local halls.  Even a Retirement Home who asked us to present an evening of drama/entertainment for them.

We compete annually in the Conwy One Act Festival which is a feeder festival for the Welsh One Act Festival and  the UK Festival of One Act plays.  We have reached the Welsh Final twice in recent years.

Performances have taken place in Theatr Colwyn, Colwyn Bay Cricket Club, Bryn Pydew Village Hall and Church House Glan Conwy. 

Rehearsals are normally held on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:30 in Colwyn Bay Cricket Club, however are present we are temporarily using a room at Colwyn Bay Football Club or Lemon Studios Llandudno depending on availability.  You are always welcome to come along, but please email beforehand to check we're rehearsing.

Occasionally we also hold workshops in all aspects of theatre craft.

We are members of NODA National Operatic and Dramatic Association and have won awards presented at their annual dinner.
